Hooray! It’s everyone’s favorite time – Beauty Review time! Today I am reviewing Maybelline New York SuperStay Matte Ink lipstick.
I went into Wal-Mart for TWO THINGS and lipstick was not one of them! I loved the pretty colors and haven’t purchased a lipstick in a while so I went for it.
This Maybelline New York SuperStay Matte Ink is in shade 115 Founder. It’s a gorgeous shade, perfect for fall! So my first impressions – the applicator is weird. It has an indent in the middle of the sponge. And the sponge isn’t very spongey if that makes sense! I DO however like the pointed tip (just the tip!). It makes lining the lips much easier.
The lip product goes on pretty smooth and you don’t need a lot of it to get a good full coverage on your lips. Immediately after applying, the product is super sticky. Not lip gloss sticky, but like I just put glue on my lips sticky. I expected that to go away within a few minutes, but nope, no such luck. The stickiness lasted for several hours. Every time I opened my mouth to talk, I was paused a second while my lips unglued themselves from each other.
This lipstick lasts a LONG time. I drank coffee, water and even went to work out and it stayed. Most lip products claiming super stay don’t make it past 11 am, but I am happy to report this one did last. I put a second application on after lunchtime, but I definitely didn’t need to.
The Bottom Line: I love the color, love the staying power, but just can’t get over the stickiness of this. I probably won’t return it just because it’s too much effort, but I don’t think I will be wearing this again.
